I just got my 5,1 in today and was wondering if the hdd’s From my 3,1 are compatible with the 5,1? I’d like to keep one to use when I want to power up in windows 10, like I did on my 3,1.

Thanks!

if they are sata drives they will work, but you might have issues with the mbr and such. might have to whipe them/not be "plug and play"

They will work, they are indeed plug and play. However, the trays are not the same. You will need to move the drives from the 3,1 trays to the 5,1 cMP trays.

Plus no attempt to proof read before posting obviously.;)
i was in dire straits trying to get windows back and keep up with the posting, then my dog started barking which triggered my dyslexia...

what's worse is not having an editor. someone to make sure the right part goes in the right place and all the swears get taken out

I didn’t even think about the sled being different.. I tried installing them when I upgraded my GPU and ssd, but they didn’t slid in easily and I didn’t force them. I’ll attach them to the 5,1 sled tonight and wipe them both.

^^^^Guess you missed post #3
