I'm thinking about getting the Logitech z 5500. What would be the best way to conect it to my Macbook?

Says the speakers support optical audio in.

You'll just need a mini optical to go in the headphone jack.
and it says the speakers have a toslink connector

the one on the right is the mini, the left is the regular toslink optical.

You can get these cables at you local electronics store but they can be expensive.
monoprice.com has them for $2.50

You'll need exactly what waw74 posted. I have the Z-5500s and have used them with both my iMac and Macbook with the same cord from a different manufacturer. I suggest getting the Z-5500's, they are excellent speakers.
