Hi everyone,

Just saw a craigslist post for a 2010 Quad core 2.8 ghz MP for 800. It has all the default components but does have 16 gb 1066 mhz RAM upgraded. And the owner is selling it for 800$. I already have a 2012- non retina MBP that I use as a desktop, but I've wanted a MP for the longest time.

What do you guys think? Is this a good deal? Should I bite or pass?

Thanks!

It's in the correct price range. OWC has the same for $1069 (and I trust OWC more than a random craigslist post).

Ask the seller if he's willing to let you run some diagnostics and bring a bootable drive with diagnostic tools so you can do a thorough test before closing the deal.

I agree, that sounds like a good price as long as its in good condition and no problems. If its all stock, never been abused, and looks nice to boot, then grab it. :)

You can always upgrade the hell out of it later if you want it to go faster.

Quick question guys, did the 5,1 MP come with an airport card for wifi by default? Or was that an extra add-on?

If it's not a big deal, people could just do things correctly then. I'd assume that's not a big deal either.

You assume everyone that posts here is in the US? Some countries put the dollar sign after the number when referencing our currency. Canada is but one example.

You assume every Canadian person is from Québec? Most Canadian people use the dollar sign in front of the number.

Most currencies use their symbols in front of the number. If someone isn't from Québec and they are putting it after the number, they are using it wrong.

This is the definition of a stupid internet argument, sort it out guys!
