Apologies in advance if this is well trodden turf but for the life of me I can't find an answer (and I'm a new poster to boot). I can merrily rip DVDs and play them back with all features and functions as expected if I use DVDplayer or VLC. 5.1 sound is not a problem at all. However, if I then use HandBrake to make an H.264 version of the main feature for playback via iTunes then all I get is stereo. Regardless of setting I either get stereo or I get silence. What am I doing wrong? All I want is a similar experience that I get from playing ripped files through DVDplayer but using H.264 through iTunes instead. If I buy movies from the iTunes store then I get 5.1 sound (when available), so how do I achieve the same sort of thing with my own rips? Thanks in advance!
