This is strange. Somebody posted this on the iOS 9 wishlist thread

It shows that iOS 9 and iOS 8.4 are in testing. But that's not what intrigued me. There is a new phone, iPhone8,1, which is said to be 667x375. At first I thought it was 4.7 inches, because it is half (or quarter) the iPhone 6 resolution (1334x750), which makes sense as the iPhone 6 has twice the pixel density of the original iPhone. But then I checked the size of iPhone7,1 (the iPhone 6 plus) according to this scale, and it says that it is 5.2 inches, even though we know for a fact that it is 5.5. So I checked the size of iPhone8,1 according to that scale, and it says it is 5 inches.
I'm not an analyst, and I don't have any other data to prove it, but I am curious; will we see a 5-inch iPhone this year?

Anything can happen who knows ... There is some rumours around about the iPhone 6c they might put a 5" display on it and many people also saying they will even release a 4" iPhone 6 or something like that but we can not be sure about anything . Just wait until we see with our own eyes and not just reading rumours .

It is possible they just switched the 4.7 / 5.5 inch phone identifiers. I highly doubt there will be a 5 inch iPhone this year considering their history of sizing.

You're forgetting that the 6 plus uses @3x assets. The width and height just refer to the hypothetical "1x" resolution. Not necessarily directly linked to screen size.

I do hope for a 5 inch though - that'd be perfect IMO

To be honest , im realy pleased with the 4.7" from the iPhone 6 it is just perfect not too big and not too small , just amazing for me !

I don't really get this whole @3x thing. What does it mean?

If this is true, all I am hoping for is an iPhone that won't bend.

Just found out that the 6 plus does in fact have 2208x1242 for everything apart from physical pixels. Turned out I was wrong about the 5-inch thing
