While Apple has made strides in bringing long-missing apps to the iPad in recent years, there are still five iPhone apps that remain noticeably absent.
What about the Calculator app? Is there an iPad version yet?

Will be nice if the cellular models of iPad get the phone app and is able to make cellular voice calls. But not expecting this to happen. As for the apps, they may eventually make it to the iPad.

There's a couple of annoying things Apple does. The stupid alarm isn't the same as on the iPhones - on the iPhones, when alarms ring, you can swipe up on them, and it's completed. Done. Great.

On the iPad, you have to tap on it, and go *INTO* the clock/alarm app. Then only is it considered "done". Otherwise, it just keeps ringing every 10 minutes. WTF apple? I don't want to jump out of my game, damnit.

Another annoying thing is how I'm listening to a story (screen reader) and an app starts on a different phone (say, Pokemon), that phone has now grabbed focus from my air pods. WTF - the priority should be with the device that is continuing the sound output.

Next, I have no clue what the trigger is, but sometimes, using or putting away the AirPods trigger the Music app to open. WTF?! I AM NOT USING THE HEADPHONES TO LISTEN TO MUSIC, DAMNIT. I use the screen reader to read to me. And there's no way to disable starting the Music app. So on my iPhones and iPads, I've deleted the music app. Sadly, you can't delete the music app on MacOS, so I still get annoyed by it every time it happens on the Mac.

Hope you're happy, whoever who made that idiotic decision. You forced me to delete the music app.

Before, Apple got away with a lot of their strange decisions. They themselves usually defended them with that they knew what was best for their users. The users usually defended Apple, claiming that if it was something they needed, it would come. Let’s call these decisions Applenanigans.

I do feel both out in the real world and within the core user (fan)base, people are starting to become more disgruntled and vocal. There seems to be a lot more complaints about “The Apple Way” than there has been before. Myself included. I do think if Apple wants to keep their current number of users and stock price, a LOT more effort has to be put into developing the current offerings and less on cars and glasses.

The biggest omission is surely the Watch app? I’m sure there is more than a few people still who would ditch their iPhone entirely if they could run a Watch/iPad Mini combo.

What really annoys me is that put a lot of emphasis on that cross platform stuff at WWDC and then they themselves don’t use the framework!
Maybe Apple knows what we don’t? Or the frameworks are so bad they don’t want to use it? Or they want to use in-house solutions for better integration that third party apps can’t possibly compete?

All of Apple’s apps should be available on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Otherwise their walled garden ecosystem becomes less attractive.

It's actually kind of baffling that there is no Journal app for Mac nor iPad.
Yes, Apple's Journal is useless to me - I do most of my journaling on the Mac's on DayOne.
I had actually totally forgot about the mere existence of Apple's Journal.

Life as we know it on planet Earth will go on.
For sure, but there's a few things to bite into for next CEO to make things better for Apple's user.

Make the apps on iPhone and iPad the same, and why not bring them to Mac's too?!

I would love to see the Journal app on macOS! I like it's concept so so much, but I kind of avoid it because it's not that comfortable to write on iPhone. If there would be an iPad app and no macOS app it would be probably a big reason for me to finally get an iPad. 😳

I've never owned an iPad. I only have a Mac and an iPhone.
Apologies, I wasn't aware of that. I hope the attached YouTube video provides the best answer to your question:

This example of the iPad calculator app clearly illustrates why certain apps or features cannot always be fully implemented across all devices. However, I believe this is a topic that is often best understood by developers themselves.

Didn’t Invites come out a week ago? How has it joined the ranks of other apps that have over a decade under their belt of not being on the iPad? 😂

MacRumors, I would edit this article since the top choice makes it look foolish.

I think three of them should come to iPad: Sports, Journal and Wallet. The Phone app isn’t really necessary since FaceTime can do audio calls.

The Journal app is a perfect fit for the iPad, so I think Apple should consider bringing that app to it. The journaling crowd would probably gravitate toward it, plus paired with an Apple Pencil would make it a nice feature and app.

While iPads cannot function as standalone cell phones, ...

There are a few design choices Apple that are pretty odd and this one makes me sad. There is zero cost to enable cell calls on ipads that has sim-card.

I'm also pretty sad that Apple decided macbooks most certainly will not have their own cell-chips and internet connection. Why let people use a portal device standalone when you can complicate things with having to use two devices?
It would be so nice to have a macbook just switch to cellular data when the wifi signal goes away, but oh no that is reserved for ipad.
