Is this a rare thing in the US? In the UK there's some sort of sale monthly. I use the CheapCharts iOS app as well, that shows me the daily price drops (and it costs me a fortune)

I use it every day to check on sales

9to5 had the story about a week late. those $5 deals started the Tuesday prior.
