I actually like the idea of Liquid Glass in macOS but I feel it was implemented poorly. I miss the old Aqua UI from Tiger and prior so much!

But there's this weird inconsistency in Liquid Glass in macOS that would be great if it was cleaned up. In places where a clear glass would look great, it has a frosted glass effect that's so muted I'm not sure it's even glass, like the top bar in Safari.

And then the inconsistency of rounded corners... I'm actually a fan of the rounded corners personally but seeing as virtually all third party apps don't use it, it's... yeah it's rough.

So yeah - I'd like more of the Aqua aesthetic back and more consistently across the OS...

Liquid Glass not going anywhere? Fine. I'm not upgrading from Mac OS 15 until it does. I don't need to. I have everything I need. Everything works. I'm not touching it.

I have yet to find a compelling reason to upgrade, either. AI is probably useful for some specific tasks, but what they're calling user AI is just less accurate search. Siri never did it for me, either. Doodad engineering as a previous boss of mine once called something similar.

Unless there is an avalanche of bug fixes and performance improvements, like you, I'm also not upgrading from Sequoia. Note to Apple: That means that I'm not buying any new hardware, either. Thankfully, the hardware tends to be fairly durable.

It is inevitable, another thing in a long list of items people swear would never happen in Apple products.
It may not be another feature that no one asked for, but it's certainly one that many users have prayed would never happen and have begged apple not to force upon those who don't want it.

In fact, apple itself used to make reassurances that this wouldn't be forced on people. But even if you can still buy laptops without the touch screen option, it's still going to screw with the interface, just as the iPhone has.

The ability to turn off transparency/translucency already exists within the accessibility settings. So… yeah?

Honestly that was kind of an odd question to ask.
but then it turns off entire transparency thing, including dock, and so forth. I don't mind transparency to be honest, i just hate glass that is counter productive.

I do wonder if anyone thinks about the implied “planned obsolescence” of leaving anyone with an intel-based Mac stuck on the disaster that is Mac OS 26. Those clients probably imagined Apple would take care of them in the 27 update, and now they are going to be “forced” to update to Apple Silicon sooner than later, just to have a usable OS. OS 28 would’ve been “presumably” a better place to break with Intel processors, one would have to imagine.

A good lesson to Intel users that I advise my colleagues and friends: if you have Intel, and arguably Apple Silicon, DO NOT UPDATE to Mac OS Tahoe!

If Apple wants to do AI well, they need to end the "new features once per year" model. AI labs come up with features every week or two, and if Apple can't keep up with the pace, they will continue to fall behind.

With Ternus taking over and the Neo a smash hit, I hope for a renewed focus on the Mac and quality software to match the quality hardware. That is my hope. Will take years to see the Ternus led route, but a great start would be to purge those in charge of software and replace it with those that can deliver on such a promise. Fed up with the afterthought the Mac has been, when it is the very foundation of all that Apple makes.

Don't get me wrong, California is, in my opinion, the best thing in the US. I do love LA and SF (since I was a little child, living in some distant point in central Brazil back in the early 70's when, for the first time, I saw pictures of both cities in an important Brazilian magazine, "Manchete" and it was love at first sight), but these Californian names makes are so "démodé", so "passé", so...typical.

Another reason to skip new hardware I’m going to stay with high sierra
If you can, then yes, but High Sierra hasn't been supported for 6 years. It doesn't even really have up to date web browser and it's not like High Sierra was any better. Everybody complained about it.
