There's a bit about surfing the net/using other apps when on a call ...is that new?

Regrettably not. I have been doing that for ages with the first gen iPhone

When you tap "Buy now" on an app the icon is displayed on the home screen but faded out, with a progress bar underneath it to indicate how long it will take to download. Pretty nice.

I'll get a clearer image when the large video has downloaded

I hate this foreplay come on apple take your clothes of and get down to it ( we want it now)

Can save images from email attachments now, as well as the Safari image save that was leaked earlier.

Just tap and hold the image and press save and it sends it to your camera roll.

Seems that the iphone is also now capable of decoding .zip files from e-mail attachments.

I actually think it was more of a highlight that you could do that while on UTMS. Which isn't possible when on EDGE unless you are using WiFi.

No thats just the iWork support. A keynote file is a zip file essentially with all of the media and content inside.

It looks like contacts search will only search by name and not actual data like an email address. I hope thats not the case. You can search by email address in the Mail application so I don't see why not

iwork files are directories masking as files. When you send it in mail it might gettings zipped but that still means that iphone mail has to understand how to decode that zip, it's likely therefore that it will also understand how to decode anything else inside a zip file, eg a PDF or word document.

With the current iPhone, you can only talk and surf (or do anything data-centric) if you are on a wifi network. On EDGE, it's one or the other. (If you are on a web page and get a call, whatever you've already downloaded is still there to be viewed, but no new data will come in until the call ends.) I believe that on 3G, you can talk and do data at the same time.
