Was watching a video of everythingapplepro, and he mentioned that the 512gb iPhones could come with 8gb RAM, but he was waiting on further confirmation. That would be crazy.

Yes, I was wondering too if the 256gb had less RAM than the 512gb. Is there any official word on this?

I seriously doubt there’s going to be a jump to 8GB this year. It’s just not necessary.

4GB seems like a reasonable assumption, that’s what I’m expecting.

Don’t think 8gb would make much sense on iOS.

The a12 bionic is a beast of a processor though.

He said it would be to help control the 512gb memory. But like I said, it is still just a rumor.

It doesn’t sound likely Apple would put 8gb of RAM in the 512gb version, but 6gb I could believe.

Wouldn't Apple brag about if it really did have 8GB of RAM although they never mention it?

They did not brag when the plus models had an extra gigabyte.

That is the normal max. It would only be for the 512gb models.

That doesn’t make any sense.

Apple utilises nvme vs cheaping out and using Ufs. ram isn’t used to control storage.
I know, it would be very strange. But I am just sharing the information from everythingapplepro.

showing the same Geekbench scores as the a11 sooooo not as much of an increase as apple is boasting

Ios 12 Gm was released day before yesterday.
So no idea what numbers your using.

We should know more by next week after the embargo are lifted on the reviewers.

But the a12 is a 7nm die compared to the a11 and features 6.9 Billion Transistors, a 60% Increase with an 8 core npu versus the two cores on the a11. Gpu is also should see a 50% increase in performance.

Single core should be higher while multi core is only a 15% increase.

doesn't seem that way as of now

If Apple jumps from offering 3 GB in their flagships to offering 8 GB this year, I will buy you one. In fact, I'll buy one for everyone who "likes" this post! LOL!
0% chance haha

Please don’t believe everything some random person on You Tube says, especially him as he literally just reads the EXACT same news sources you do and then talks about it in his videos. He can afford so many Apple devices because of his income from You Tube, hence the reason for 5 ads in a 10 min video!

Wait for ifixit or a geekbench year to confirm the ram and I bet it’s 4GB.

The Xs has 3+1GB if they haven’t changed that pattern for portrait mode enabled iPhones. It uses the 1GB exclusively for the camera. People forget that quite often.
