5400 vs 7200 RPM

Just wondering what the speed difference would be if i upgraded from 5400 to 7200 RPM? Is it worth it or perhaps is an external drive the way to go?

I've seen tests since the 1990's and most say you will never see a difference. The big difference is if you buy a hard drive with ncq compared to the regular computer hard drives
