Canon engineers held back by marketing department's "megapixel race"

In the end, they're in business to make money, and they do that best by touting measurable, buzzword features like megapixels.

If the marketing department can just find a way to package the notion of improved "sensor technology" into a term that is catchy, specific, and measurable, then maybe the megapixel arms race will give way to it. Apparently Fujifilm's "12 EV of dynamic range" didn't turn many heads, so that measurement isn't the answer.
 
Sounds legitimate until the confidential source says the original 5d compared to the d700. I wonder if the "source" has even used a d700.
 
This is a terrible article... grammar and punctuation errors are all over and it barely makes sense. I don't even shoot Canon and I think this is stupid.

I'm also 104% sure this "source" does not and has not ever worked for Canon.
