Apple is recalling the AC power plug (pictured) because the metal prongs can break off too easily. Do you care? Are you going to go to the Apple Store and exchange your plug, or are you going to just keep using the one you have, because it seems to work just fine ?

(Mine works just fine, and I have no plans to exchange it. I don't plan on twisting it in the wall socket and trying to break off the prongs)

I will use it till breaks then sue :apple: when i get injured removing the prong from the wall outlet. I'm sure there is a lawyer willing to take that case on:D

my power plug has actually not even been taken out of the box yet, since I just use the USB cord, but I still will exchange it, since my local apple store is a block away from my office.

Is it that the prongs fall off or that the guts pull out too easily that's the problem?

Doesn't really concern me - we get the old two-part adapter most of the other countries get.

what if you die? I wouldn't take a chance...electrocution vs. money...hmmm...lol

If I lived in America, I would exchange on October 10, but by no means would the caution stop me from using it until then.

you know what i'm wondering right now is,
will they start adding the newer adapter
to the newer shipments?

I filled out a web form earlier which took all of about 2 minutes. They'll deliver a new one to me along with a box to post the old one back. So why wouldn't I exchange it? Seems like a no-brainer to me.

From the UK so no problems over here, but if i was in the states, i would deffo exchange it, why wouldn't you?!?

you would be very annoyed if you didnt exchange it and they did break off in the wall socket!

Better safe than sorry :D

I'll keep using it until sometime in October, and then I'll use this as an excuse to go to the Apple Store and buy myself something for my birthday. :D

It's not a big deal for me right now, as I keep the adapter plugged in 24/7, and don't twist any plug, but you never know when it could become a problem, so why not?

from the apple article, it sounded to me like the new were already shipping (just the replacements not available till oct), which is why they made the note of looking if yours has the green dot showing it's the new style. just my take on it.

I have never used mine. I did order the new one though and Ill mail back to the old one. Didnt want to have to go to an apple store for the exchange.
