Firstly I will say that I am a 22 year old male, and I have not dressed up for Halloween since 4th grade. Well I have a friend who wants me to go to a Halloween party and it is where people dress up in costumes. So I need to think of something and I am clueless and have no idea (I'm not a very creative person, to say the least).

Any ideas? And nothing too crazy, please. Just some good suggestions that would be relatively easy and not too "out there".

P.S. Would there be any Apple-related ideas possible that the average person would recognize (i.e. most people (at this party) probably would not pick up on jeans and black turtleneck to be Steve)?

I would say go as Sarah Palin or John McCain, but you don't want to scare people to death.

What about going as the PC guy -- John Hodgman.

Does anyone know if there is an online store that sells either of the two costumes from the movie Donnie Darko (either the Frank one or the one Donnie himself wears)? Those would be cool. ('cause it is such an awesome movie).

Edit: Okay maybe not... seems the only way to get that is to spend $400+.

You could be a third generation iPod. The one with the four buttons across the top and the scroll wheel below it.

Still think the Woz one will work

Okay scratch the whole Apple idea. (I say that because no one is going to recognize any of it because probably everyone would be a PC user. Yes, I know, I'm hanging with the wrong people,)

Just general costume ideas.

Has anyone seen a skeleton costume like the one worn in Donnie Darko? I'd go for that.

I was at Target the other day, so while my wife was shopping, I was just looking around. They had a costume for the Burger King guy. It actually looked pretty good. I got a chuckle out of it.

get with 3 other buddies and do the channel 4 news team from the movie "anchorman"

stay in character all night. myself and some friends did that and it was a big hit

I'd like a costume that is kind of clever-ish and maybe a little funny. Not really into scary or gross or anything. But... how do the headless costumes work? I'm interested. :)
