I have a 2019 iMac with i5 and 580x. Would the new 10th gen i5 and 5300 have the same or similar performance for Premiere pro?
 
comparing against the 5300m on Geekbench, looks like the 580x is quite a bit faster. Will that matter for Premiere Pro? Will the T2 help with Premiere?

Pro 5300 is not the same as Pro 5300M. The iMac uses a desktop GPU. You can see the specs here:

Keep in mind though it doesn't exactly equate to the PC version. For instance the PC version of the 5700 XT has better performance than the one in the iMac( higher clockspeeds, memory bandwidth, etc). But it sucks more power( 225W vs 130W).

Thanks Quagmire and Leman. I looked up the specs and still seems to be a decent size gap between 580x and 5300. Do you know if the T2 chip make up any difference for Premiere performance?
