It’s worth checking the pre order picture before drawing that conclusion. Blush and Citrus 512GB models sold out before launch day even arrived. Delivery dates for pre orders slipped to late March not because Apple under supplied, but because demand absorbed the initial allocation faster than expected. The walk in stock available today exists because that demand was front loaded, not because it was absent.

The M5 Pro and Max comparison actually reinforces the point rather than challenging it. Those are also available for same day pickup because at $2,000 plus, the pool of people who can walk in and buy one on launch day is relatively small. The Neo is priced for the largest addressable market of any Mac Apple has ever made. Managing same day availability at that price point and that scale isn't a sign of weak demand. It's a supply chain achievement.

The person who judges product significance by launch day scarcity is the person Apple has always sold to. The Neo is for everyone else.
Why should I check? It was stated that the Neo was available for same day pickup.

I'd be picking one up today, but it's the first day of awful weather we've had in a week. Even just yesterday would have been 70 degrees and sunny.

Went 30 minutes after opening to pick up my MBP MAX and I asked the Apple employee if they expect to sell a lot today, they told me some of the other Apple stores nearby opened an hour early and that they sold out already. Guess seems like a solid launch day at least in the US. I didn’t see any lines but a lot of appointments, a lot of people walking out with the Neo.

Boom!

Great to hear!

Because you used same day availability as evidence it wasn't significant. The pre order sellout data is the direct response to that claim. You don't have to look at it.

But "it was stated that the Neo was available for same day pickup" was never the whole picture.

Checking would have helped you make a more accurate point.

I received my Indigo today and I'm enjoying it so far. I also have a MacBook Pro that is a few years old, and a Mac Mini M4. I like them all for different things. The price, weight and build quality of the Neo are very solid, especially for a budget laptop.

I have seen people complaining and I think they are missing the point of this machine. This is not meant for heavy Pro type usage. This is an awesome computer for kids/education and for simple everyday tasks like email, browsing, and some media consumption.

If you are thinking about getting one, do it, or wait until they go on sale for an even better deal. Just understand what you are buying.
