Hello all, just got the 17 Pro Max and 5G standalone is disabled. Says my SIM card does not support it. I’m on AT&T. Anyone else having this issue? I called AT&T and they said they couldn’t do anything about it on their end. What?!

Im on an older unlimited plan…I wondered if that was the cause? Maybe standalone is tied to certain plans? It's been blanked out for me for as long as I can remember.
Couple of things.
I think ATT really has not rolled out true 5G in many places. Per their website, it's only in arenas, busy areas. So really can't limit ATT to SA mode only.
And, unfortunately, it's nothing Apple can do. Not iOS related. The Standalone option is carrier controlled. Will need to deal with ATT.

For sure. I have escalated to Advanced Tech Support twice and the two reps I have gotten have given conflicting information. You'll have to ask ATT.
The option is controlled by the carrier settings file. Controls features that the carrier will support on a device. Each carrier has their own configuration files. No master file for this.
Usually gets updated during an OS update but will sometime see a message about updating carrier settings on the device.
No matter what, could be almost anything other than an iOS issue.
