The thing was, 4G was supposed to be used for the new LTE technology that jumped past the best 3G could do (HSPA+)...AT&T stole the term, trying to look like the first to market, and effed it all up, instead creating confusion in the market, just like they’re doing now. What they were calling 4G was simply the best 3G could do, and they could have called it 3G+. Sure it was better, but it wasn’t 4G. So, when it was actually available, everyone else ended up calling it LTE or 4G LTE.

They just want people to think they’re first to market with it, but, now they’ve, again, instead created confusion.
