So, does it run at 5k or 4k?

If it's 5k, which generation started supporting this resolution?

I'm not made of money-- I only have the one.
but yeah, I'd imagine so. After all, the 2014 5k imac was the first.

Pretty sure the 2013 iMac was the first 5k iMac.
2014 was the first 5k iMac

In October 2014, the seventh major revision of the 27-inch (69 cm) iMac was announced, whose main feature is a "Retina 5K" display at a resolution of 5120 × 2880 pixels. The new model also includes a new processor, graphics chip, and IO, along with several new storage options.[3]

This model has a 27" 2560x1440 LED-backlit 16:9 widescreen IPS display with the "cover glass fully laminated to the LCD and anti-reflective coating." The rear of the case is aluminum and is thicker in the middle and tapers to a razor thin 5 mm at the edges.

Damn; Alright then. I was under the impression my iMac (2012) was the last non-retina version. So it seems all the 5k iMacs can run Boot Camp at 5k. This is good to know.

good and bad. Some apps look great others are blurry.........

I had the 2014, 2015 and 2017 5K iMacs and yes, they all support 5K resolution under bootcamp with both the native Apple-supplied drivers and the modified AMD drivers from places likes BootCampDrivers.com.

Mind you, the implemetation on the windows side isn't bug free.

some applications don't respect the scaling.
there can be problems with running more than one monitor.

etc, etc.
