I have a late 2014 5K iMac that I am using less and less due to having the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.

Spec's:
- 4 GHz i7
- 16GB RAM
- 512 GB SSD
- M295X - 4GB GDDR5

I don't really need the money for it but it seems a waste to be just sat there. I wanted to hear opinions on how much it would be worth now - I'm in the UK - and how much it could decrease by when this years model is released?

Although you have a better GPU I would say a little less then the below image if presented to the right crowd. Less then that on craigslist and/or let it go. Maybe try 2250 on craigslist/let it go with negotiable and come down to whatever you are comfortable with. The time to sell is probably sooner than later if you arent using it. Prices will drop on the next iMac announcement and its only going to get cheaper as time goes on.

Pulled from Apple refurb store which comes with a 1 year warranty, box, etc etc

Thanks for your reply. Im in the UK so pricing and values are slightly different. I still love it and don't really need to sell but like I said - it seems silly letting it go to waste.

^ He is in the UK so no craigslist there.

Before I settled on a used late 2015 from ebay, I watched a lot of auctions. Late 2014 models with i7 and the M295X graphics sold between $1800 and $2000.

Oh sorry, then I would tack an additional 14 billion quid on or whatever crazy price Apple charges over there.

You sounds like me, so speaking from experience I would sell it if you arent going to use it. I tend to hold onto things until they completely lose their value and arent worth selling. If nothing else repurpose it, give it to a close family member that can use it, etc just don't let a 2000usd machine goto waste.

Look at it this way. It is literally costing you money if you arent using it as it depreciates.

(looks over at a pile of pre iPhone 5 iPhones) ugh.

I tend to price mine around what the Refurb price is and it generally sells for that on eBay (I usually sell every 2 years so still has a year of AppleCare left on it).

Based on the replies, it seems like they hold their value. Something to keep in mind incase I want to upgrade the 5K I haven't bought yet in a few years.
