I have an 8GB 2015 5k iMac and it seems to be running out of memory. I checked Activity Monitor and did not find any rogue processes, but the memory pressure map was red and pretty much at the top. It was not changing any other color than red. 7.9+ GB is in use and 5+ GB of it is compressed.

The only thing that is running is Safari/pandora and 7-8 other tabs. There is also one other user currently logged in. Is 8GB too small for the computer? Is there anything else I can check? I have not really had much of a problem in the past. I tried closing the 7-8 other tabs open and it at least got the memory pressure in the yellow...

That seemed the logical explanation. However the RAM is very easy to upgrade yourself if this becomes a recurring problem.
yeah, I just did not think the other user would use that much memory when it is not in use. Shouldn't OS X has some sort of 'sleep' mode or something when you switch to another user? I logged in as the other user and started closing applications and my memory usage plummeted!
