Hi

I was recently given a replacement mobile at work but the sleep/wake button is intermittently sticking and doesn't have a "click" like the volume buttons do.

It's only five months old but the previous user had a case which exposed the corners of the phone and it looks like it was dropped a couple of times (see image).

The damage is on the bottom of the phone and other than a couple of light dints to the bezel close to power button there isn't any other damage.

Do you think this would affect the warranty? Has anyone ever had experienxe of Apple not fixing something due to damage? Do they send the phone back if you don't agree to the repair?

Was it purchased by the original owner five months ago or have you had it five months and the previous owner had it longer ? Warranty is only 12 months from the original purchase date, and only for manufacture issues not drops and spills, unless you have AppleCare +.

If it were dropped, Apple will know this and without AppleCare +, you are SOL.

Edited: Unless you are in the U.K.

Looks like minor dings and frame looks straight. You shouldn't have any problems replacing this iPhone under 12 months warranty.
And you've probably already checked but here is Apple warranty check https://checkcoverage.apple.com

Thanks, that's what I thought.
