5th gen Airport Extreme-ly Noisy

Is the new AC Airport Extreme like the 5th gen before it?
When I sit in the same room and it's quiet you can hear every packet (I have really good high freq hearing - sue me).
I want to upgrade just to end the noise!
FYI, my 1st gen N Airport Express is silent.

I've got the latest 3tb time capsule and its silent...

About the noise though, mine is whisper quiet... Can't even hear anything.

Likely a defective part, either a faulty fan or maybe a bad power supply.

Finally installed the new ac Airport Extreme and it is very quiet.

Well, defective or not, the 5th gen is going to be my nephew's Xmas present, and since he's still on a linksys-g the speed bump should be enough to help him Facetime with video.
