iPod touch 5th Gen iPod Touch Diagnostic Mode

Hi, I'm buying a used 5th Gen iPod Touch and was wondering how to put it into diagnostic mode?

Also what tests can be done in diagnostic mode and are these tests a good way of telling whether the iPod is working properly or not?
