I got a 5th Gen 32GB iPod touch I use to play audio in my car. It's battery has swollen and is pushing the display out and was wondering if Apple is replacing these units with 6th gen units by any chance. Even if I have to pay the out of warranty replacement price, it'd be worth it for the upgrade. Anyone heard of Apple doing this for these units?

It doesn't hurt to make a genius bar appointment and ask. (That is if there is an apple store near you). Or you could always call support and ask.

Take it to an Apple store. They can replace the battery for you.
