iPod 5th generation ipod + sunscreen=????

A friend of mine covered his 5ht genreation ipod in sunscreen and is now asking me to fix it. It turned on when i had it pluged in, but all i saw was the light from the backlite, not text. I'm assuming its the LCD that needs repalcing, am i correct? am i in for finding other things are broken?

Well, it was his stupidity to put it in the same bag as sunscreen...
