In terms of release date, we're aiming for approximately a week out, but it's possible it will come sooner or later than that.

Release is probably at the evad3rs.com website. Week out from today.

Never heard of evad3rs.com before. Looks like it links to a twitter account. Shouldn't it also be posted on the iPhone Dev Team website?

Its a new team setup by old Jailbreakers. It's been mentioned a few times here. You can check out their evad3rs twitter (NOT evad3rs_jb) and see who is involved. But the main people behind this jailbreak formed this team.

    edit - got beaten...

Gotcha, I only have time to check on the jailbreak status 1-2 times a month (med school), so it's nice to have you guys to update people who live under a rock like me. Thanks!

Woof I'm having a hard time keeping track of all the tweet threads ;)

Planetbeing said about a week, Musclenerd insinuated Sunday Funday.

Rather than obsessing over a single date, I would set low expectations of by next week's end, and then be hopefully surprised when it drops much earlier

    Sounds good.
No need to rush them, whenever is ready and fully tested.
We waited many months now. A few more days wont make a difference.

I'm glad this is happening, but it seems like the process is getting longer with every new version of iOS, which is expected I guess.

Let's see if :apple: can completely lock us out with iOS 7 :p

Getting closer. Just tracked down and fixed a rare stuck-on-boot bug. If only kernel memory layout was more deterministic!

There will always be loopholes/bugs/exploits no matter how advance an operating system is. Only problem is how long it takes to detect it and use it.

Since iOS 6 is gonna be supported,is there really any good reason to upgrade to 6.1?

I've been thinking about how excited businesses probably are that depend on jailbreaks to install their apps. They will be finally able to offer their apps to the iOS 6 customers.

You don't have to, but why wouldn't you want to? 6.1.0 has bug fixes and improvements over iOS 6.0.X

Agreed. Though, I wonder why they don't just put their updates on @evad3rs rather than all individually tweeting sporadic and cryptic things
