To me, the most impactful component of screen size is not the diagonal measurement but rather the width because it directly affects the size of the keyboard and how the device is perceived and handled in your hand. It also affects the width of characters on the screen with respect to how many characters will fit on a single line.
I've used a 6s and an 8plus. I found the 6 to be too narrow for me and the 8plus a bit too wide. The new 11 and 12 pro models have width measurements that are closer to the 6 but moderately between the 6 and the 8plus. I went to the Costco in my area (Apple store still closed) and handled a 12 pro for a while. It seemed like a good compromise, but I only spent a few minutes with it.
If you have the same observations that I have (6 too small, plus too big) and have gone to a pro model (11 or 12), how did you find it after using it for a while?
