6 AM and No Carrier Update Yet

It's 6 a.m. here in the CST. No carrier update for MMS. Not sure when it's suppose to go live but thought I would update you all. Comment if you got it in the midwest yet.
 
People act like they've never updated the carrier file before.
An official carrier update notification comes through iTunes when you plug your phone in. Just like when there is a firmware update, you'll get a notification that there is an updated carrier file. Install and this will activate the MMS functionality of the phone, and make the camera icon available to you in SMS so that you can select a picture.

The MMS functionality is already on your phone if you have 3.0 or higher, it's just currently hidden. This carrier file updates the phones settings, and makes this functionality visible.
 
hehe, my bad on the time. I didn't ever see when ATT said they would release it, all I heard was the 25th. Guess I'll snag it when I get home from work today.
 
^ Thank you! I don't know why people think the activation of MMS is gong to be anything special. I swear people have Dick Cheney memory when they're blinded by the stupidest things like MMS.

It's a big deal when you buy an iPhone and can't receive all the nake pics from the girls you know 🙁 😉

yup. it doesn't seem like all that long ago when half the forum were defending the lack of mms saying "use emails". it's amazing how such basic features can cause so much excitement when it has anything to do with apple. it's like the search feature; you'll use it once or twice, then forget its even there.
 
KSUwizard are you one of those guys they where talking about on espn last night about the football and basketball players fighting over who gets the most girls??

The worst part is I don't even receive those ATT messages like I used to. When people send me a MMS I just don't get anything and they don't know that. They think I'm just ignoring them. "I'm sorry Jessica Alba for not responding back when you sent me a naked picture of yourself. Please send again today after late morning pacific time."
 
I have not received a text from AT&T in at least a year. I have received a view my message.com one.

I do kinda secretly wish someone would send me an MMS just so I can see how it looks. I can send myself MMS but that's no fun.

Yeah I was talking about the viewmymessage text. It's been so long that I've received one that I forgot what they even said. I received those for about 2 weeks after I bougth the 3gs and never since.
 
and I would think, once someone downloads the official carrier file, if they upload it and shared it, everyone should have MMS, there's no need to wait for the text from AT&T.
