One of the things I love about my phone is the ability to listen to music, and log my runs with an app like Map My Fitness or the Nike Plus Running app.

Is this thing too big to run with? I really like the idea of the larger screen, but is it too big for fitness?

It seems like they make armbands for the Note, and a quick google search finds arm bands in the pipe for the plus, but I'm not sure.

I personally would avoid an arm band due to the size of it but I know they make some belts and stuff with phone pockets - like a fanny pack for 2014, hahahaha. It may not look cool but it may be more comfortable than an arm band.

This is the main reason why I didn't trade in my iPhone 5 (and all the dings #) I have an armband for the 5 and it works perfectly while running and working out. I am curious to see the fit in many of my different pants and shorts though

LOL @OP That was the reason I didn't go for the PLUS. I had a note 3 (which is slightly smaller and I think a bit lighter than the PLUS) and I run about 5 miles a day 6 days a week. The note would drive me nuts .... it wouldn't fit in the runners "fanny pack" I ran with and when I kept it in my shorts pocket the weight kept pulling down my shorts as I ran. :p I spent too much time pulling up my shorts! I love the larger size but it was just a bit inconvenient for me. Although I would have liked a 5" screen in the same physical size case as the plus the "straight 6" is fine.

My FlipBelt just arrived tonight and it fits the 6 Plus pretty snugly, but it does fit.

I'm running with a Nathan hydration backpack the next two days (long runs), but I'll be using the new FlipBelt on Monday -- test "trotting" around the house tonight with it around my hips, it doesn't bounce or ride up, so it'll be decent for running with.

Just search Amazon for "FlipBelt". I was looking at armband cases too, but as an endurance runner with puny arms... it was laughable when I hold the 6 Plus up to my upper arm. :D

I ran with the iPhone 6 today and it was fine. I used my water-resistent SPIbelt which I used to use with the iPhone 5. The 6 was in the Apple leather case.

Size and weight, it's close to the maximum that I'd prefer to run with. I tested my iPhone 5 with a Plus template and it felt a bit large. It fit in the SPIbelt but without any keys. I wear the SPIbelt in the front, but with the Plus I think you could get away wearing the larger version of it in the back like a fanny pack. Personally, I can't run with my iPhone 5/mophie combo, and the Plus seems close to that weight.

Part of the answer also depends on how fast and what terrain you run. I run 30-40 miles per week, with many half marathons and at least one marathon a year. If you're more of a 3 mile per day jogger, you'll likely be fine.

I wouldn't run with the Flipbelt or some of the other belts.. I spoke with Flipbelt at my last marathon expo and they confirmed that their belt is not water-resistant. Hope that helps.

It would be hard to run with. I just got a 6 since it will be much easier to run with that in my pocket.
