Last shot, but... give it a try just in case.

Have you tried a full factory reset (of both units) and fresh reinstall of the OS with a computer?. This is not possible on the OG Homepod, but it is on the Mini.

"Reset HomePod mini with a Mac or PC:

Plug HomePod mini into your computer using the USB-C cable that came with it.

Wait a few seconds. If you're using a Mac, open a Finder window. If you're using a PC, open the latest version of iTunes.

Select your HomePod when it appears on your computer.

Click Restore HomePod".

Hello,

I can confirm that my problems have been solved by changing the channel bandwidth and control channel of my 5GHz network. I used to have both HomePods connected on the 2.4GHz, however, I decided to switch them over to 5GHz to reduce the risk of too much interference by neighbors on my floor. I set the channel bandwidth to 80MHz and the control channel to 161. I haven’t had one connection drop or any other the issue the OP described in several days now.

Hello, I'm having the HomePod mini stereo desynchronisation problem too. It's happening exactly how the OP is describing.

@SamboSoul - Could you let me know how you're changing the bandwidths here please? I'm not so hot on routers so I'm unsure whether you'd be doing this from a Mac app or something in your router itself.

I just have a router that my internet service provider gave me. It's called the Sagemcom Fast5330b-r1.
According to this page, it can do wifi in 2.4 GHz and 5GHz. The only info I can find is in French because that's where I live. As far as I know there is no information on how many channels of each bandwidth it can handle.

I guess the router I have might not be so good so if you have any suggestions for a better one that doesn't cost the Earth, I'd be interested to hear too!

Running the HomePod AudioOS 15 beta and it’s resolved!

What?. That´s fantastic!. Honestly, after so many reports of stability issues running stereo paired minis since they were launched in... ¡November 2020!, i didn´t expected it to get solved. Better late than never!

There’s a chance it might break in the next beta haha. Will see!
