Anyone go through the process of getting it fixed? Do they send your phone in to fix?
Had a crappy experience today. There were no appointments available at my local Apple store so I contacted them thru chat.I did. They attempted to replace the camera at the store. I say attempt because they ended up breaking my screen, so they replaced the screen as well. Then the phone didn't function, touch screen didn't work. They ended up replacing the phone.
So, set up an appointment, worst thing that can happen is you get a new phone.
I had the exact same experience. I was told I could mail it in for replacement and would be without a phone for 1-2 weeks. I would suggest getting a Genius Bar appointment if you can.Had a crappy experience today. There were no appointments available at my local Apple store so I contacted them thru chat.
My serial number is in the affected range.
I dont have a problem at the moment, and I was told it wouldn't be repaired until I noticed a problem.
I said if they know there is a potential issue it should be fixed anyway. I was told I had to wait for the camera to break, rather than get a proactive fix.
You know you have the problem if you touch the screen to focus on something, usually at mid range, and it is blurry, almost like looking through a frosted window. If a phone does not exhibit this behavior Apple will not replace the camera.I am in the effected serial number rage. How do you know if you have the problem? I also have AppleCare+. So I am not concerned and really I would only go in when the problem shows. The later I get it fixed, the newer my phone will be on the other side, when I hand it down...![]()
