Any one of you upgrade from 6 Plus to 7 Plus? Has it been worth it and if so, what's the best part of the upgrade?

Thanks! :)

Just a friendly notice, if you search, there are a plethora of threads comparing the different iPhone models and similarities/differences.

But since you asked, the 6+ to 7+ is a fairly large difference in terms of RAM, speed, stereo speakers, Haptic home button and dual camera.

The biggest difference to me is how much faster the iPhone 7 Plus is over the 6 Plus.

Thanks. It should be quite a bit faster, but I watched a video comparison between the 6S+ and 7+ that got me thinking. While the 7+ showed a higher score in Geekbench, it was only slightly faster for most tasks and slower some of them, including boot-up time! Yes, that is a 6S+ and not a 6+, but after actual day-to-day usage differences, not just the specs.

I did search the forum for comparisons, but found mainly 6 to 6S/7+, not much on + to +...maybe my forum search skills aren't that great...

The problem with the 6+ was one gig of RAM, which really lagged the iPhone. The 7+ has three gigs of RAM. Which is significantly faster and it has very few refreshes compared to the 6+.

To me, I feel the 7+ is night and day difference over the 6+. And I've owned the 6+/6S plus/7+ For comparison.

I'm holding out for the 7S Plus A11 even though likely 8 months out, and then not sure but I want to wait for 11.2+ and first bath to have been out 3-4 months at least.

Apple Store Specials Refurb is where I bought my 6S+ and highly recommend that route.

You get a huge boost in overall performance. You also get some nice UI additions like 3D touch and system haptics. For me the performance must have been the number one thing but I'm surprised how much I enjoy haptic feedback. I wasn't expecting it to be a big deal but turns out it's really nice feature! And obviously there's the new camera system etc. but iP6+ already took decent photos so it's not generally that huge difference. Surely under difficult lighting circumstances etc. the iP7+ camera will do much better job.

I went into a store to check them out today. I like the feel of the new button and generally the 7's and 7+'s felt quite snappy. They didn't have the 7+ colour I liked though and the next nearest store was a bit of a drive so I put it off to tomorrow. This was kind of fortunate...

Getting home, I couldn't stop but feeling that the upgrade is just so hard to justify, even though I'd covering the full price with vouchers. It feels like the identical phone...not sure whether it's worth parting with that much money for a very similar experience and another couple of years. Pleaaase tell me the next release is going to be seriously more exciting! I suppose it's the point we find ourselves with phone technology & features, they feel like they've plateaued a little. Of course that's very subjective, but the move from 6+ to 7+ doesn't feel like it'd be anything like the one from 5 to 6+. Just going to have to sit it out for another few months.

Yes, that's what got me to upgrade from 6s+ to 7+ ;)
It really looks good, classy. I think the white face actually suits it better than the black. That helped to sell me on it. Next upgrade I was set on a white face after years of black ones - somehow more cheerful. Then I walk into the store and see this red sexy phone with a white face? Done!!!

Quad core CPU, 6-core GPU, 3GB RAM...it's a pretty future proof phone IMO and will run like a top for a while (7+). This phone is a beast and blows the doors off my previous 6+ in just about every measurable way.

Thanks for having a 2017 6 plus thread. I'm on my 6 plus looking to get the 7 plus but I'm still sitting. Lol
The 7+ is so much smoother, the whole experience is definitely a good step up. It feels far more capable and I don't hesitate trying to do things. Remote Desktop, Teamviewer, browsing, you name it. Not to mention the always-on 'Hey Siri', which is great, particularly while driving. Second gen. Touch ID is immediate and raise to wake is great too - no longer need to press the Home button every time I'd like to look at something. Speaking of which, I really prefer the solid-state Home button too...

Honestly, I'd upgrade again tomorrow!

The most noticeable changes from my 6+ to my 7+ was the improved battery life and the faster Touch ID. I switched carriers from AT&T to Verizon at the same time, so I also got a nice improvement in LTE speed and coverage.

I switched from 6 Plus to 7 Plus in December. Was originally waiting for this new iPhone 8, but my 6 Plus was on it's absolutely last legs and, as a student, there's no way I can afford the absurd price Apple will ask for the new one.

In terms of differences, it's faster, you gain Force Touch, it has an amazing camera. But those things quickly wear off and you realise you've been duped by Apple into buying what is essentially the same phone...again.

And so the Circle of Apple continues.

I did. It's not worth it. I like the 6 Plus better in many significant ways: headphone jack, color temp of screen, lighter/thinner/better leather case (not slippery). I was glad to be rid of the stupid 7 Plus.

Agree with this. The upgrade is not worth it. In fact, it was a downgrade to me in ways that mattered. Yuck.
[doublepost=1494705488][/doublepost]I also think jet black is the stupidest color ever: fingerprints galore. Dumb. I saw two people the other day with jet black phones. Both looked disgustingly grimy.

Just received my JB 7 Plus back on Wed. Love it!:):D

The speed alone is worth the upgrade which is probably the obvious and I'm enjoying my Apple Pay again, meaning it scans/reads right away, lol.

I don't do the charge and listen to music while on headphones, I use my speakers or a bluetooth capable speaker, so the whole overreaction of a "no headphone jack" was never a bother:rolleyes:, for me. I did find some decent bluetooth headphones under $100 tho. I was due for an upgrade in that area anyways and he 7 Plus gave me a reason. The Jet Black is beautiful.

6 Plus is still decent to use, but you will appreciate the speed difference.

In my experience the 6+ to a 6s+ was a huge difference.

The 6s+ to a 7+ was like adding sprinkles to the icing plus a scoop of ice cream.
