Anytime I awake the phone and start to use it, the screen stays frozen. And I have to keep putting it to sleep/awaking it for it to unfreeze. Resetting and wiping the device/restoring from backup has not worked yet at all. I'm still on 8.1 but a friend of mine has the same issue and he's on the latest update. Anyway to fix this?

Clean install to 8.3 first of all. On the 6+ any earlier iteration of iOS8 is a total bugfest so hurry up and update and don't use a backup.

As for why your friend's does it too, despite being on 8.3. I don't know. Did they update OTA and possibly have a corrupted installation? My 6+ doesn't exhibit the bug you describe.

Thing is that this never happened until a few days ago since I've owned the phone since launch day last year. The battery life on this phone is good on 8.1 so I'm worried it might get worse on the latest update.

Still need to update to 8.3. Apple will not give you much help unless you update to the latest version. FWIW, I had freezing issues with my 6+ so I sent it to Apple and they ended up replacing it.

Well I just updated to 8.3 and the phone feels even quicker and so far the freezing is gone. Hope it stays that way. Hoping the battery life will be just as good as 8.1.

Guess I spoke too soon. It just froze again.I'm guessing maybe it could've been caused by when my girlfriend dropped my phone a few days ago but my spigen case protected it and it has no external damage. I think I might go exchange it when I get a chance.

Went to the apple store earlier, turns out it was the screen. They replaced the screen and now everything is working flawlessly.

What a strange occurrence. That's a new one for me! Did they elaborate at all? What about the screen was causing the freezing? Bad connector?

Same thing happened to me a couple months ago. I opted for an entire replacement over just a screen swap. Glad yours is working good again.

Well the freezing just came back and it's been happening frequently again. I think I'll opt for a total replacement too. This is ridiculous. My phone is pretty much unusable.

Got it replaced. Restored all my stuff on my new phone and it works flawlessly. The original one had a hardware issue, probably revealed itself after my gf dropped my phone. Never letting this thing get abused like that again.
