I'd take it. But I don't play the lottery religiously like some people and hope that there's a chance that I'm given everything so that I don't have to do anything more in life. Yeah it'd be great, but having a lot of money isn't what would complete my life.

Who's to say most of us play the lottery religiously? You're making a ********* assumption there. I buy $10 worth of tickets anytime it goes over a few hundred million. But I guess I play religiously to you. Your (in my observation and perception, not calling you one, just my interpretation of such) arrogant snobbery in your remarks is sad and buzzkill-worthy.

Why do you assume that everyone who would win would never do anything more in life?

Christ, the arrogance is disgusting.

Enjoy your wine and cheese while you sit there in your loafers and plaid button up.

And don't forget the monocle. All people who act uptight and cranky must have monocles.

Thank you for sharing how you're a better person than us.

Oh, ok. Yeah, we definitely don't play religiously. When it gets up this high, we go in on a pool with some friends for fun. Maybe spend $30-$40 per year if that.

Money doesn't complete life, of course. But it certainly can make it a lot easier. I would still dabble in what I do, but I'd be able to do more. Some people believe that the way to live a "real" life is to work themselves to the bone to "earn" it. That's not the way I view it. In fact, I think that's a pretty pathetic existence.

Just because I won a lot of money doesn't mean that I'd then just sit around buying fancy cars and mansions and ridiculous art and wasting away in drugs and booze (okay, maybe booze!). I'm a little more grounded than that. You do know that there's a lot more to life than working, right? Just because I wouldn't be working doesn't mean I wouldn't be doing anything.

I'd use it to the money to start a company, developing software for education and building schools. Not boring buildings, but a small village that sustains itself, gives summer jobs to the students, and let them learn their own way! I've been dreaming about starting a business like that for 3 years now!

Well, I'd probably still finish university, since i only have a few hours left anyways...
Then i'd travel for a few years and see the world and climb all the sweet crags i've only seen online or in magazines.
I'd find a spot to build my house, and it would be all minimal and clean lines. 100% green, solar panels all over the roof. I'd have a garden where i could grow all my own food.
My house would also include a pool and music studio.
My basement would be a sweet little grow op to sustain myself;)

And i'd climb all the rocks forever :):):)

I'd
1. Pay off debt
2. Get my friend citizenship in USA
3. Build a 5000sq ft home on the western slope in colorado.
4. Buy a Land Crusier 2004 (I'd Import a diesel), Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, motorcycle of some type and a Old Diesel Mercedes.
5. Talk to a financial advisor and diverse accordingly.
6. Some family would get money..
7. Preach 6 months out of every year in a foreign country.

I'd beeeeee super happy

I'd pay a team of people £50,000 a year to write back to every who sends me letters begging for money with the words "F*@% Off" (you get the idea :D )

Sure, but you didn't have to go and insult those who do play the lottery and assume that they are looking for handouts.

I would go and buy one of these:

Then I would do some other cool stuff. But that is legitimately the first thing I would do

I'd buy a new house.. with a pretty big garage, Then I'd buy a Honda Fireblade and then splash on some MX stuff!

I'd also buy an obnoxiously coloured bugatti Veyron..

I do. I live in New Jersey and I play the pick 5 everyday and the mega millions, power ball and pick 6 all twice a week. Just one play. I also run the office lottery pool and always play when the same type of numbers games in any state I drive through (you can buy one play for the next few weeks of drawings in most if not all states now). Some say that's an idiotic waste of money. I'm fine with that. It's my hobby and I enjoy it.
If you can make $380 million disappear in a lifetime, you have some very real problems.

That is just shocking. I don't understand how some people can blow through double-digit millions in just a few years. I honestly don't get it. What the hell do they spend this money on??

Well most people don't win and blow through 350 million but I agree it's s sad to blow through even ten. Just putting two million away in a safe place could last any American for life and a nice one at that.
