Has there ever been a hack that let's the iPhone 3g proccesor run at 600mhz, almost at full capacity, letting the iPhone 3G be on par with the allowed proccesor speed of iPhone 3G S?

I sorta have a question too. I have a 3gs... can that be over clocked to 3 ghz or so its on par with a desktop mac? I really need to run final cut studio if possible.

    Thanks.

You just have to put a "Type R" sticker on the back of the phone.

No, there has never been a hack. But, as the iPhone 3G's ARM11 processor has been under-clocked from its default 600 MHz down to 412 MHz, it is possible to do, but will kill battery life.

Thanks that's the answer I was looking for although I'd be nice to have a hack from cydia that let you toggle from 412 to 600 in settings it you need it real quick

my 3GS runs far cooler than my 3G ever did. even right now, i have them sitting next to each other running the same apps, and the 3GS is cooler, faster, quieter, longer, stronger, harder, better.

jk about the last few, but definitely cooler and faster.
