I hope it's not a Best Buy employee. 1199 is a good deal for the 2.0 aluminum model. Be careful with that financing though, deals like that can bite you in the bum if you don't pay before the deadline (which may not be 18 months exactly).

You are asking if simply saving $100 is a good deal, and then you're getting "smart" with a legitimate question?

Apple launched new white MBs too. What's the "proper terminology" on that?

show me one site that has the new macbooks with $100 off?

And you show me that stranger's opinions on saving $100 deserves a *high-five*.

The real point of your thread is that Best Buy has a sale, and you bought one.

Apple.com/Education.

(but not evry1 goes to colege!)

I know.

i goto college and apple only offers $50 off

now what?

what's with the negative in this thread?

And yeah that's an okay deal, but you could have ordered online and got one for around $951.

Ebay Buy it Now for an authorized seller = 1279
Ebay 10% discount promotion = 1151.1
Using Microsoft to buy your Mac (Live Cashback $200 discount) = 951.1

And that's no tax, free shipping.

Hey whiskers, I'm in college too. Call me kewl.

valid question as theres a mb old style, mb aluminum mba and mbp. his reference of hoping you arent a journalist is reffeering to your lack of being specific

Apparently. ;)

In regards to the OP, thanks for posting this. Even though I bought my 2.4 Al macbook last month with the education discount, the Best Buy deal is still better with $150 off.

awsm dude!

I used eBay live search cashback on ~$1100 worth of Apple gift cards back when it was 30%. Of course the seller had to make a profit too, but I ended up saving about $300 after .edu discount.

good deal?

yup no problem

I would pay 200 more just to buy it from a creditable store, rather than some person on ebay

It does work, it simply doesn't work for your account. I got the top end Macbook for $1235 after the coupon and live cashback.

I bought from an eBay power seller, which is just as good as your so called "creditable" store. Mine arrived perfect, no issues at all. And after your price with tax, I paid less than you for a better machine. Wow! So no, you did not get a good deal. It is actually a pretty bad deal given what else is out there.

Some friends fell for a deal like that at Best Buy and they had to pay some crap at the end off had I can't remember what it was called, but it was 150 or so.. insurance maybe? but Best Buy never told them about it.

Regardless of what others said, I think you got a great deal. You can't beat a hundred bucks off a virtually new product + 18 mo zero interest. Congrats!! Just make sure you read all the fine print on the BB deal and don't get ripped off.
