What is his email i figured id email him since the apple store is NEVER available with my schedule and i simply want to get my notebook fixed. So i figured id give it a shot.
 
Call Applecare first and explain your situation and send it in. If you can't schedule an appointment through your Apple store then go through the Apple care hotline next.
 
Yeah i just sent out the email since Applecare was no help at all. I keep you updated when i get an email back which will be a couple weeks id figure.

Call them and they'll send you out a box, it takes 15 mins to do unless you'd rather play the email game for the next five weeks.
 
Does anyone have an email address for the Pope? I want to complain about a creaky pew in my church.
 
This is actually prove to be slower then it would have been to call Apple and request a return, or go into an Apple store.

You don't need to email sjobs to get your notebook fixed with the reason that your apple store is never available with your schedule. That isn't even a real issue. They will most likely tell you the same thing that you'd hear if you just spent a few minutes to call the applecare number.

If you try to schedule the same day, you will of course have problems with openings.

You can schedule (if I recall correctly) up to three days in advance online. Furthermore, if you REALLY have an issue, you can easily call in to your apple store and they'll be more than happy to accommodate you.

Additionally, if none of the above work for you, you can just call the Applecare phone number and if it's a legitimate issue, they'll send a box over for you to ship it to them.

Either way, if it's hardware problem - it'll need to be sent to the depot anyway.

All of the above options are probably less work and hassle than emailing sjobs and waiting for a response - unless of course you think he's going to compensate you by other means in some way which I wouldn't count on.
 
If someone's e-mailing Phil, can you ask him about the keynote as well, while you're there? I just hope Steve Jobs is on vacation🙂
 
I called Applecare and they told me it would cost 650$ to fix a trim.... Now really lets think about how much a new thin piece of plastic really costs, not 650$ unless it has super powers. Ill email phil and bug him too 😛 ill be sure to ask him about the keynote too it wouldnt hurt to ask.

Well yeah, of course the trim itself doesn't cost more than $20.00 but Apple probably doesn't sell it separately and they most likely don't just replace the trim, they may have to replace the entire lid since it's made as one whole piece in the factory.

You know, they don't reply to every email. Call up and ask for a specialist, explain whatever your problem is.

If it's a cosmetic defect - they probably won't help you, unless it is a known issue. Doesn't matter who you call or email, if it is considered "accidental damage" Applecare doesn't cover it.

See i understand what you're saying but there is one part which i dont get and that is "accidental damage" If i dish out about 1500 i dont expect "accidental damage". Now i know that i didnt cause this accidental damage for when i first took the macbook out of the big brown box (came in the mail) then out of its box i inspected it and noticed that part coming out. I know a lot of you are thinking "why didnt you report it right when you saw this" well i was going to but i bought this macbook for school and i figured id go through my first semester then report it (which im doing now) Im on winter break so i thought id get this issue fixed. Ill post pics of it now.
 


I couldnt get a good shot of the top separation but it looks just like the lower right one. I know it isnt a HUGE thing but it has become a pep peeve to me and i would like apple to fix this for the fact i paid about 1500$ for a product and monitor trim separation wasn't advertised so i really hope that when i go into the apple store they will deal with this issue unlike Applecare telling me to pay them 650$ to fix it.
