64-bit and mbp

will my mbp c2d with 2 gigs of ram run 64-bit applications in 64-bit? or do i need 4 gigs which would mean i need the new mbp? TIA

The amount of RAM won't change the fact that you can run 64 bit programs.

The Core 2 Duo is a 64-bit chip, so it should run 64-bit applications.

I'm fairly sure teh C2D is 64bit, and you won't need to install 4Gb RAM, thats just the current maximum that Santa Rosa allows. You won't have to replace your laptop!
