I put a 64 gb cf card in my 2nd gen mini and it intermittently works. However, it doesn't sync properly. I managed to get the iPod OS on it and it works fine from the mini, but when I plug it into a Mac or PC it freezes (the iPod) after a little bit. It doesn't freeze when it's plugged into a wall charger.
I know I didn't ruin the mobo because I opened it back up and put in the microdrive and the ipod worked fine.
