I don't use the iPhone to store anything heavy like photos, videos, etc. but iCloud and other storage options however I'm afraid that in the near future apps will become bigger and occupy more space to such an extent that 64 GB will not be enough or am I wrong? Currently I'm using about 20 GB out 64 GB on my iPhone 8. What storage do you think I should choose on the Xs Max? I plan to be using it for at least 2 years.

If you plan in keeping it for two years I would go with the 256 just to be safe.

64GB is too little if you use a significant number of apps, especially games. I'm currently using about 98GB on my X most of it for photos, videos and music so I will be upgrading to the 256GB version. That being said I think 128GB would've been a sweet spot for most people ;)

You’ll be fine with the 64GB. I bought the 256GB 8 plus last year listening to people on the forums saying how anything less wouldn’t be enough and after a year of usage, hundreds of photos and pages of apps. I’ve only used 46GB of the 256GB.

I wish there was a 128Gb version, but I’ll get the 64GB version this time around!

64 GB is easily enough for my wife.

64 GB is manageable for me, but kinda of restrictive. 256 GB is way overkill for me.

I will likely be pre-ordering a 128 GB XR instead.

I have had my X since November of last year. I have used 36.5GB out of 64GB and that is only because I just downloaded over 7GB of offline Netflix content and over 4GB of Youtube content to my device before I headed on a long trip. Because of the cloud and streaming, I will never use more than 64GB. Look at how you use your device. Look at how much memory you have used over the past year and how much of that memory is fluff (screenshots, memes, gifs, useless videos). That will tell you.

Neither 64 or 256. 512 GB is the one that can last you for a while.

64 is cutting it too close for me (9.5G open on my X). While I think 256 is too much for me, I will go with that so I don't have to worry about space.

I really wish there was a 128 option especially for the price. I'm right at the 64 GB used mark and 256 is way too much storage for me. Guess its going to have to be the 256

I will be going for the 64GB.

As mentioned I use the cloud for my photos/videos.

I use Spotify for my music and have just the bare minimum apps that I use on a daily basis. Anything else I will download and remove after a few days if I haven't been using it.

This way I had around 50GB free space on my iPhone 8.

Since I'm on the Apple Upgrade Program and don't need to worry about future resale value on eBay or Craig's List I just pre-approved a 64GB model. I'm only using 23GB on my current X and have no plans to add a bunch more music, vids or pics (though I may have to get that Elder Scrolls Blades game they demo'd :)) so for me 64GB will be plenty for the next year.

I was on the fence yesterday. Currently using 75gb on my 7 Plus. Could easily delete some games, apps, photos, iMessages etc to free up space, but I plan on keeping the XS Max for at least 2 years, so the extra $150 upfront for 4x the storage is worth it for me. I don’t think I’d want to deal with the upkeep needed with 64gbs for 2 years.

Im personally going for the 64GB. I pay for icloud. I have about 30gb worth of photos and store them all in the cloud. I don't play much games on my phone nor do I have many apps. I think I have like 50-60 apps? Needless to say, most of the 64gb will be free.

64 is plenty for me. I don't play games. I don't store media. I don't have a ton of apps.

I have a 128gb iPhone 7 Plus, and after two years I have used a total of 37.8gb of space in it. So I am very comfortable with the 64gb. That being said, if I had dollar bills squeezing out of every orifice of my body, I'd get the 256gb anyway.

I think you’ll be fine with 64GB. Apps don’t take up that much space and in reality, you only use so many. Apple has a feature to delete apps you don’t use or something. Apple has been really good with adding options to minimize any thought around storage. A couple bucks a month on cloud storage, a few settings, and you’ll never even think about it.

Going 64gb on the XS max. Currently I have a X 64gb and still have 37gb free. I pay .99 a month for 50GB on iCloud. I’m good. 256gb is overkill for me. 128gb would’ve been better I guess. When I had iPhone 8 128gb I had over 88 gb free. 64gb for me again.
