Well, with my first generation I had 2 replacements.

3G - 4 replacements

In total - 6

So put into the poll the total of all the iPhone replacements you've had.

I've had two original iPhones now. Apple has been relatively nice about it. Go in, have a problem and they just kind of shrug and hand me a new one. I haven't gone in recently yet - I don't know if they have anymore refurb. original iPhones left in stock to replace mine if mine were to mysteriously malfunction.

Does anyone know what they'll do in that case?

Prob. have a few left and would take a few days to replace.

Kind of LOLing at me having a refurb first generation phone without any problems. I say kind of because I don't want to eat crow when I get a new phone later this year. :)

Hehehe. Me too.
No problems with my 1st gen… but already worried about my (unanounced even) upgrade later this year.
*sigh*

I've had a couple problems that I was able to find answers to at this site, but no replacements.

4 actual replacements and while I was getting my 3rd replaced, I looked at 2 more that had problems before getting my 6th iPhone (that is perfect... which I've had ever since).

I'm afraid I'll jinx it!

so I'm not going to say that I have never needed to replace my iPhone.

4 3gs....WTH was wrong with them? They give you any hassle?

1 replacement here. I am going to get another close to my year mark. I just hate to restore all my jail stuff.

Just one....had a scratch on the bezel that I didn't see in the store. Brought it back the next day for a shiny new one. Scratch free...

I'm on my second iPhone 3G, only because the sleep/wake button got pushed in too far and wouldn't come out on the first one.

I selected "1 - Minor Hitch" but not sure why you added " - Minor Hitch" to the selection. I was traveling on business and my iPhone 3G would not power up. I was able to find a local Apple Store and got it replaced but would not conside that a Minor Hitch.

SHOCKINGLY my "launch day iPhone" was and still is perfect. Shockingly!

2 replacements for 16 gB Black 3G phone.

My original 3G phone overheated in my pocket, enough to cause a red mark on my leg. Replaced - no hassle.

Two weeks later, the second 3G stopped working as a phone while I was traveling. I went to the nearest Apple store and it was replaced, no hassle.

Third phone is flawless.

Apple also replaced the power cable for fraying at the phone end. No hassle.

Haven't needed any replacements on my first gen iPhone. I do know of 1 dead pixel on it, but I can't even see it. I have a friend who has eyes like a hawk when looking for dead pixels, and I can only see it when he points it out to me.

I just hope mine can hold out for a few months longer. . .*knocks on wood*
