Sorry, still not convinced.

Apple states that a 1 minute video at 4k60 uses an average of 400MB (480MB for slow-motion)

Youtube video measures write speeds above 1GB/s in both configurations which leaves a lot of overhead, and so does the read speed at a minimum of 250MB/s.

I agree however that when moving and copying it will obviously help. I'm just saying that when it comes to me I can live with it taking a little longer since I cannot justify getting a larger storage based just on the speed (that is on a phone of course).

Yeah and really, even if you take 4k video, just optimize your photo storage and let them sit on the cloud.

I’ve got the 256GB 11 pro max. 64GB is just too small for me. I had 128GB 6 plus, 6S plus and 7 plus and I was always close to filling it up. The X and Xs max I had were 256GB and I was always comfortable with that. I was using about 100GB so I had plenty of space left. After I returned my note 10 I briefly had a 512GB Xs max for 2 weeks before I got my 11 pro max. I was still only using 100GB.

I also subscribe to the 2TB iCloud plan so I think both combined is enough for me. I’ve got unlimited 4G data on my plan now too so I think with both those 256GB will be ok, especially as it has been ok for the past 2 years.

256 GB. 64 GB is not enough with the cameras on this thing. Was listening to John Gruber who said he asked several people to see how much storage they were using. Based on his informal survey he concluded that most people need around 128 GB, which is not available on the Pro. Apple really should have ditched the 64 GB storage option for the Pro and started with 128 GB in my opinion.

And Apple went for 64gb and 256gb for that very reason. They know that most people will not risk low storage on such an expensive phone so will go for the 256gb, thus massively increasing their margins v 128gb. Very smart business.

Haha nice you switched back too.

Why did you return your note 10?

128GB has to be the sweet spot and apple know this hence why only the xr/11 has it. How do us consumers let them get away with it?!

64 is more than enough for most. I stream all music and back up photos to Google Photos and only have a few games and Netflix shows on my phone at a time and I usually still have like 40GB left!

$150 doesn't make the extra storage worth it in my opinion. I have been fine with 64 GB on my last 2 or 3 phones. I don't have unlimited data and I download YT videos and Plex movies from time to time no problem.

Same. There’s plenty of ways to store photos... from Google Photos and paying for iCloud Storage.

I feel that splurging on more storage for an iPad makes sense compared to iPhone, just my opinion.

I usually get the 64 (if 128 was avail, would grab that). How has the 64 been on the 11Pro? Have you recorded any (short) 4K video on your phone?

I have the iPhone X, haven’t upgraded to the last 2 generations. Planning on getting the 2020 iPhone, but if Apple offers the same configuration... I’ll get the 64GB over the 256GB. I doubt Apple will ever offer the 128GB ever again in the premium selections.

Apple entices you to go for the 256GB version and obviously it’s a better value. I’m now accustomed to the 64GB configuration, haven’t had the need for extra storage.. but for the iPad that’s a different story.

And, I haven’t had any issues with recording 4K footage in regards to storage... however I don’t record much in 4K. If my plans was to record footage for YT purposes.. I’ll record and delete when successfully uploaded to YT.

64gb is enough if you stream and use the cloud.
Not if you download tons of apps and games (like me).
I have over 300 apps and games combined, taking up nearly 64GB alone. I have a 256GB iPhone 11 Pro. I stream and use the cloud, though I have 30 songs downloaded for no-internet conditions.

Just playing devil’s advocate, but why would you need/want 300 apps and games?

why soo much lool?

64 should not exist on a phone, apps getting bigger and videos are getting bigger in size too. I mean 64gb might be enough for the SE since its target consumers just might be those who dont take pictures/videos a lot and just want a reliable iPhone because android is too laggy or whatsoever for them

Sweet spot for me is the 128GB on my 11. I'm using 80gb, though I could manage some videos down by 27GB (iTunes videos I've purchased). With 64gb, I would be managing it. 128 gb, I don't have to worry. 256GB, money spent unnecessarily.

Good call. I can fill up 64gb if I want to, but I have everything on the cloud and unlimited data, so I could really go on filling up only 20gb worth. 128 would be preferred though.

64GB is fine for me. I don’t use much space. Lol.

This is the easiest decision. It’s practically made for you. Easier than deciding if you’re going to use the toilet upstairs or downstairs. I don’t understand why people ask for third part help.
