Hello.

I've had the 6s from launch and lately the battery has been terrible. I've used battery health and found this

Is this wear normal after such a short time?

I'm an average user really. My wife's 6 is 18 months old and showing at 95%.

Is it worth going to the Genius Bar? Thanks

Seems high compared to mine. (6s also from launch day)

5% Wear
171 Cycles
1608 capacity

Apples warrants to have 80% full capacity after 400cycles. So you're on your way to have way less than 80%. You might geta replacement battery now or in a few months.

I'm near an apple store at the minute so might go in and have a word!

Trouble is there are no genius appointments for weeks now. Can't even book for the future!

But don't show them your results with this app or any other app. Just tell them your battery doesn't last as long as it used to. They will check it with their own diagnostic software.
The Apple hotline is also able to do the check over the Internet, so you could call them too.
Or you just go to the Apple Store and try to see a genius. I'm sure you'll have to wait a long time there.

How old is your phone? Health seems about right. I have an old 5S that has 290 cycles on it and the capacity is 84.77%.

Apple may consider yours normal.

I bought my 6S in December and it has 32 cycles with 98.8% capacity.

Got it launch day!

You have a 6s plus. You don't charge as often as the 6s and getting one charge takes more time.

Update for anyone who cares!

Had an appointment with a genius, was a nice fella.

Did some battery tests and they have my battery capacity at 94.9% and it passed. Also showed my usage and essentially I use my phone a lot more than I thought .

He also offered to replace the screen and home button as I said I wasn't sure if the button felt different. He said it felt fine but would replace it anyway if I wanted, said I'd be ok with it as it was!

Moral of the story, don't reply on battery apps!

Battery apps are fine. The problem is they can vary by 20% in a given day. The battery capacity will change with temperature changing, while charging and while discharging. The Apple diagnostic is more hi-tech so it gives an exact number, while the apps typically give a range throughout the day.

Pretty much proves the point, they are almost pointless if they can vary by 20%. That's a pretty big margin to be out by!
