That would be my guess. I'm watching the forum for a few weeks to see how the issue plays out. If indeed the 6s coating is more prone to scratching than older iPhones, it will soon be apparent. I wasn't willing to take the chance it would have been fine given some previous postings.

My phone needs are simple: browser, texts, email, contacts, phone, HoFo and Words with Friends apps are about it. My Galaxy S4 runs as smoothly now as it did a year ago. No issues. And no scratches. Heavier users have a worse experience judging from some of the replies above.

Every iPhone that I have purchased in the last 5 years had micro scratches on the screen out of the box. Take a brand new iPhone and place a light source over the screen and I guaranteed there will micro scratches on the screen. It's not the glass that's being scratched but the oleophobic coating that Apple's manufacturer (aka foxconn) is applying

I gave up on cases and screen protectors, I have a dedicated pocket for the phone. Mine have scratches on it but they are small and you can only see them with the phone is not on or the screen is off, black screen. When it's on or in use you can't tell.
