well one day of strictly using the facebook webpage other than the app has showed improvement.

For the Facebook app I have turned off background app refresh for it and allow it to only use location services when in the app (if its on always it is ALWAYS updating your location to it). This helped heavily reduce the battery usage while still being able to use the app vs. the mobile website version of it.

This worked for me, too.

I'm not sure that 'only use location services when in the app' is fully functional, though. This morning, after leaving the app, I noticed the location services icon was still it up. I used the app-switcher to kill Facebook and it went away.

I'll sometimes see it stay active for up to 5 seconds after leaving the Facebook app, but better then running constantly in the background.

Give it some time, your new phone is likely indexing, downloading backups, getting everything setup. The battery also will take a few cycles to be optimized. And it's a new toy, you probably use it more.

6s+ has a smaller physical battery capacity than 6+, so doing things with screen on all the time will result in less battery time.

Actually in the Ars Technica review it states that efficiency of the new SoC is about the same for idle, where it really shines and shows battery improvement is during use.

My 6S+ seems at least as good as my 6+ in terms of battery life. In terms of performance...:eek::eek::D

My battery was sucking compared to my 6+. I was losing 2-3% when idle (I know not as bad as some here) but to me that was way worse then I was used to. Someone mentioned turning off Hey Siri, and today my phone has been off the charger for 6 hours (Quiet time of the day, not much emails/texts) and has only dropped 3%. I did stream one 30 minute TV show, got 5 emails, read news for a few mins, and checked Facebook twice. That is much more like the 6+
