predictions? Lets keep battery life out of this since that is too easy and just physics. More room bigger battery. last year it was the screen ppi and OIS what could it be this year some guesses?

4K video shooting
Force touch(but rumors saying it will be on both now)
Stylus
Flush camera since the plus is thicker
Higher clocked A9
2GB ram(better not be)

4K is not a guarantee for either, a stylus for the iPad Pro perhaps, but not for the iPhones, flush camera probably for both, higher clocked A9 for the iPad Air 3 (I don't see the Plus having it since the A8 in both iPhones are the same), and both with 2GB of RAM (at least those are the predictions I would bet on).

Minimal differences. Maybe a even larger gap in performance so it benchmarks better for all the tech reviewers. Than maybe something similar with the cameras like they are currently (OIS). Everything else will be software related.

The reason I feel that way is because the selling feature of the Plus model is the screen size. The less Apple improves it over the non-Plus model the more profitable it is. It already has a more material, larger higher PPI screen, larger battery, OIS. Add too much and its no longer more profitable then the regular version.

Just my 2 cents. Also I feel their is still a large market for a smaller iPhone and I feel it will help keep everyone happy if its not TOO much better. Me for example (as selfish as this sounds) I prefer a smaller phone, I would prefer not to be put in a position where I feel like I'm settling by buying a device I feel is too large or one that is underpowered.

isnt the current 6 actually slightly faster than the plus due to upscaling on the plus?

Not necessarily faster, it's the same chips. Just maybe smoother animations because it's not driving the larger resolution.
In terms of UI performance, and chugging through lots of graphical data displayed on screen, the 6 is faster since it drives less pixels. In terms of actual raw processing power, they are indeed the same.

I think it may just be the same differences as there are currently: OIS and a different screen resolution. I don't think Apple would give flagship features such as Force Touch to one specific model as it wouldn't exactly drive adoption of it by developers. Something like 4K video is a possibility but I don't think it's a probability.

What Apple need to do, though, is improve the Plus models' software. It's a shame, as it really does feel under-utilised at the moment. About the only useful thing currently is landscape mode in apps like Settings and Messages.

Probably none of these. Plus you can forget about 4K or a Stylus on either model.

I'd hope for a higher clocked A9 but this is Apple so that's not likely either. Probably will just be a PPI difference again.
