Is split screen multitasking available on the 6s plus? I'm coming from note 4 and able to do that. Was wondering if 6s plus can. It's very useful at times

This is the thing that has me second guessing the plus. They don't seem to utilize the bigger screen

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple was holding this feature back for the iPhone 7 or even the 7S.

iPad Pro hasn't been released yet.. It's impossible for split screen to be available on a device that's not available

You are saying that all of the iPad Pros that Apple has and that their testers/reviewers under NDA do not support split screen because they have not been released yet. That is ludicrous. Apple even said the the iPad Pro supports split screen.

Just because the device has not been released does not mean that it does not exist.

I didn't say that it doesn't exist nor that it doesn't support split screen. Just it hasn't been released yet. OP is asking a question about current devices. Not future. If OP wants split screen now, the iPad Air 2 is his option, not the iPad Pro.

Sorry to say but you're being nitpicky for no reason. Even if it is not available for purchase, it's demonstrated when announced, and I am pretty sure you yourself are quite convinced it will work. It's fair to say it will work on the iPad Pro, even if it's not yet on sale right now.

I wouldn't either. It's even possible that the iPhone 6s Plus receive this feature in iOS 10 beta for testing, much like the iPad Air 2 did for iOS 9 beta.

Actually they do. On iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus there's the two-pane view in landscape mode. No split view, and I think it should stay that way. Even though 5.5 inches seems enough to run two apps side by side, but I already find this feature a little useless sometimes on the iPad mini 4. I mean, it's great to have it and I do use Split View a lot. But it's just not the best experience in some cases. Imagine how it would be on the iPhone 6(s) Plus. You can already try it a bit, by turning the device into landscape mode. Apps like Calendar have that two-pane view and that already feels so useless. And yet it's not even two different applications, but just one.

Of course, this is just my honest opinion. But I can imagine that Apple wants to give users a good experience. By bringing Split View to their tablets and computers only, they do the right thing I think. :p

Didn't read whole thread, but-----Not 100% sure, but didn't the Note 2 have that also. From the Side Bar? Maybe limited. Believe there was some xposedmodules for rooted Notes to split screen also. Seems like we are going backwards if Note 6 don't have it. Or, newest iPhones. I thought it worked fairly well if memory serves me.

if you want Multi Window or true multitasking then jailbreak the iphone to get it.
Better yet, accept that Apple has crafted a very different definition / implementation of what they consider multitasking. Far from the conventional and highly useful multitasking computer users are accustomed to.

Android smartphones are the smartphone to have for fast effective true multitasking. Apple devotees will argue otherwise, yet they simply don't understand and often go to the extreme lengths of storytelling, claiming to also use Android.

I really don't see it. 5.5 inches isn't nearly enough space to run 2 apps at once. I have a 5.7-inch Galaxy and don't use multi window nearly as much as I do on my iPad. It just doesn't make sense in my opinion.

5.5 inch is easy to multi windows (true Multi task) what you talking about. maybe everyone is different.

I'm not denying that it can be done, I just think that it's hard to get anything done on a space that small. For instance, I find web browsing on a phone screen, no matter how big, very limiting, let alone using half of it.

I would just like to be able to see a photo on Instagram for instance, and and make the whole photo fit. Or Facebook, I would like to see multiple stati on the screen at once. That way, skimming would be a whole lot easier. All those things aren't possible using half of the screen. I just don't think it works.

Out of curiosity, what would you use MW on a 6 Plus screen for?
