Does anyone's 6s/6s Plus reload a page in Safari when going back? When I have multiple Safari tabs or Apps and go back to one of the tabs/Apps, they don't reload. It's just that if in one of the safari tabs, If I go back to the previous page, I see a reload/refresh.

Reloading makes sense when going back a page, but maybe it was faster the first few days I had the phone and may be that's the reason I didn't notice it. But now, I see a very brief pause, albeit a noticeable one, when I can't do anything until it refreshes the previous page.

A search didn't yield anything on this specific topic, but I am curious to get your suggestions.

Thanks

I haven't noticed this on my 6S+, and I'm a massive reload hater. Perhaps you have way too many apps and browser tabs open? Coming from the 6+ I've learned to constantly sweep the apps and browser tabs yard...

I didn't have many and I tried closing the few Apps that were open and having only Safari. No dice. Also tried reset w/o any change.

I just saw it on another website too. I've never noticed it before and have no idea why it's happening. Apps stay in memory without refreshing, and so does skipping from one browser tab to the next but going back (and forwards again) within the same browser tab does cause the data wheel to spin & a quick reload to occur.

Thanks. I noticed that only if you try to do something in the previous page as soon as you go back to the previous page, you see the phone doesn't respond for a very brief period until the reload is done. But if you don't do anything, then the reload almost escapes your eyes.

Exactly! The weird thing is that I don't remember this happening a few days ago as I specifically tested this case. (I usually test out a few use cases while I am in the return period)

I don't recall it happening either but then I confess to not looking out for a reload/refresh in that instance. Perhaps it's Safari checking to see which position we were down the previous page before we left it, and that it isn't a reload as such?

Edit...Actually, scrub that. It doesn't take me back to the same spot when I go forwards again anyway!

It does it in Chrome and Opera too, which isn't entirely surprising seeing how they share the same engine as Safari (or did in iOS7 so correct me if things have changed).

I've just tried the same test on my Android tablet using Chrome, and it's an absolute champ for not reloading.....the result was the same. Going backwards in the same browser tab caused a reload.
