Is it worth the headache of trying to get the superior chip (and battery life), or should I just wait for the 7?

If only the 7 wasn't ditching the headphone jack...

I have one of each 6s and I notice absolutely no difference in the 2 other then the build quality and the screen on the Samsung chip are actually better. Possibly just a coincidence or who knows. I do know it's really nothing to even be bothered about.

Uh... what? Are you saying that the iPhones with Samdung chips in them actually have a different build and screen quality? I just want to clarify, because that sounds completely unbelievable to me.

Did you read it. I said coincidence or who knows. Pretty self explanatory.

When will this TSMC vs samsung madness stop? I had a samsung iphone 6s plus and I got excellent battery life. 8-10hr usage time (sometimes 12 hours). It was super fast and it doesn't run got.

Don't worry about the chip thing.

I think you should wait for 7 though. It's only 3 months away and the rumors are now saying they are keeping the headphone jack. Probably because of received so much backlash.

Build quality refers to the feel. Are you for real? How exactly are pictures going to make you feel something?
Different iPhones made at different factories have differences.
to be fair, I don't know that build quality referring to feel is a universally accepted and/or understood implication. I certainly didn't know you were referring g to how it felt in your hands until you clarified. I was expected light bleed, is my buttons, etc. on first read.

When we are given something else to "worry" about on the iPhone 7.

Why do you always get defensive/aggressive when someone questions your statements?

You're saying the 2 have different build qualities and then saying or maybe they don't. Which is it?

For what it's worth, Between my girlfriend and I we have had (2) Samsung and (2) TSMC iPhones. I have had ample time to use and play with all of them, look at battery usage, tinker with performance and inspect them visually for abnormalities and I have not found any significant advantage in favor of either.

Benchmarks say otherwise when the processors are stressed and the batteries are drained and the TSMC runs cooler and maintains longer battery life while the Samsung usually scores a bit higher on overall single and multi-core scores.
Unless you plan on benchmarking your phone frequently to test performance, I have full confidence you'll notice little difference between the two.

I have also not noticed any build quality problems on any iPhone I have held. Compared to the few Galaxy S7's I have handled (which had loose volume rockers and home buttons), iPhones have by far the best fit and finish of any flag ship phones available now. Although, aren't there two separate factories in China that produce apple products?

if the phone lasts you all day which both chips will then don't let it bother you...chances are the same issue will be on the 7 anyway

Really? Hasn't this Chip nonsense died a slow death yet.

Oh, and the decision if the iphone 7 will or will not have the analog 3.5 mm ear phone jack was made by Apple a long time ago. Something like that can not change three months before release of multi million manufacturing tool up. Rumors can flip flop back and forth, not the design of an intricate product slated to be produced by the millions.

I have a TSMC iPhone 6S and battery life is 'meh'. After an iOS update battery life took a major hit so for all I'm concerned software is going to play a bigger roll than chip manufacturer.

I once bragged in one of these forums about how great my 10+ hours of usage was on my TSMC 6S. Now I'm lucky to get 7 hours which is on par with every iPhone I've owned in the past (lousy).

Personally I wouldn't put any effort into getting a TSMC equipped device.

And before anyone mentions it, yes I've restored as new and Apple has tested the battery and found it to be fine (4% of new capacity at the time they tested it).

Scrap Facebook app and others that send signals every 15 seconds regardless if phone is on or asleep or what settings you have it on.

I don't have any of that stuff.

When I did a restore as new I didn't install any 3rd party apps and battery life was still just as bad.

Keep in mind battery life is not necessarily "bad". Its just bad relative to prior versions of iOS. I thought maybe there was something wrong with reception (since phone.app is so high albeit I use the phone a lot) but the Apple genius even compared that to another iPhone and mine was identical if not slightly BETTER.

just checked. i got my 6s plus about 2 weeks ago and they said it was a fairly new shipment. downloaded that app and got a tsmc chip. even if it was samsung i wouldn't care.
